Yves Jean

Yves Jean is a French native. He has learned Argentine Tango in Paris, France from top European Maestros, including Pablo Veron and the famous Thierry Lecoq, who is considered a jeweler among the argentine tango teachers for his exceptional pedagogical skills. Yves has the privilege of being one of his disciples, who are easily recognized for their clear lead and strong magic connection, as well as the teaching skills, and the ability to be creative. Yves is well known for inviting absolute beginners and visitors on a dance floor to make them feel the magic of argentine tango. His romantic and creative French touch is felt through his dancing and teaching. He will make you feel and experiment the physical, emotional, and cerebral connection. In addition, those interested in the particular Milonguero Apilado style will enjoy his specific teachings for connection and balance.


He has taught and performed from Salt Lake City to Phoenix, St George, Las Vegas, Paris, Nice, French Riviera where he spends 2 months every summer attending numerous festivals and taking private lessons from top maestros.


Yves has also taught tango to Parkinson patients at the University of Utah Hospital, Health Wellness and Rehabilitation Department. He uses tango for couple therapy and makes the parallel between being a couple in life and in dancing. He has been called upon to teach tango basics and specific connection to professional modern dancers of Woodbury/Ririe Dance Company of Salt Lake City. He performs and entertains for businesses, private clubs, and non profit organizations.

In Salt lake area he is assisted by his tango partner and advanced student Barbara Fegely, former Wasatch tango President and one of the most passionate tanguera of Utah. Both Yves and Barbara are used to dance the so romantico well connected Milonguero Apilado style.
